Are you uncomfortable living with uncertainty? You want or need to know what happens next and when. If you can’t get answers, you feel anxious, frustrated, and powerless as to what’s next.

Accepting uncertainty means giving up control of the outcome. We are, however, always in control of our emotions, behavior, and our overall ability to cope with uncertainty.

“A warrior accepts that we can never know what will happen next. We can try to control the uncontrollable by looking for security and predictability, always hoping to be comfortable and safe. But the truth is that we can never avoid uncertainty. This not-knowing is part of the adventure. It’s also what makes us afraid.”
From Comfortable with Uncertainty, by Pema Chodron

“Without the element of uncertainty, the bringing off of even the greatest business triumph would be dull, routine, and eminently unsatisfying.
-J Paul Getty

If uncertainty is unacceptable to you, it turns into fear. If it is perfectly acceptable, it turns into increased aliveness, alertness, and creativity.”
-Eckhart Tolle

“The quality of your life is directly related to how much uncertainty you can comfortably handle.”
-Tony Robbins

“So what do we do? Anything. Something. So long as we just don’t sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we’ve satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late.”
-Lee Iacocca

We crave explanations for most everything, but innovation and progress happen when we allow ourselves to embrace uncertainty.”
