EQ

EQ

Apr 11, 2025 | Thoughts & Musings

Success isn’t solely defined by intellect or technical skills. Emotional Intelligence – the ability to understand and manage one’s own emotions, as well as recognize and influence those of others – plays an equally, if not more significant role in attaining personal and professional fulfillment.

Is it your education, your experience, your knowledge, your intellect? No, none of these are a true predictor of your ability to succeed. Why do you see highly intelligent, highly educated – let’s say brilliant – people struggle in his or her business, personal, or financial life? It happens more than you realize – the person that should be the most successful instead only plods along through life. The answer most always has to do with emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is the secret. It may be hard to identify or quantify, but it is real, and it is powerful. EQ could be described as common sense, presence of mind, and ambition on steroids.

“Leadership is not domination, but the art of persuading people to work toward a common goal.”
-Daniel Goleman

“People with high emotional intelligence know how to find solutions to conflicts.”
-Travis Bradberry

“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotions.”
-Dale Carnegie

“Emotional intelligence is more important than any other asset in the workplace.”
-Gary Vaynerchuk

“Self-awarness gives you the capacity to learn from your mistakes as well as your successes.,”
-Lawrence Bossidy

“Business is about people. It’s about passion. It’s about bold ideas, bold execution, and, most importantly, people.”
-Daniel Lubetzky
