Teach Me

Sep 24, 2022 | Thoughts & Musings

This is what I know today, but I know there’s more to know.

Our learning is dynamic and limitless. This allows you to be confident and passionate, while at the same time hungry and open to learning. Learning – it requires an intentional decision.

The posture of learning is a popular one among some of the most accomplished people in history. Brian Herbert once explained: “The capacity to learn is a gift. The ability to learn is a skill. The willingness to learn is a choice.” The greatest “masters” throughout history agree. Michelangelo said, “I’m still learning” when he was eighty-seven years old. When legendary cellist Pablo Casals was asked why he continued to practice at age ninety, he replied, “Because I think I’m making progress.” Even Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Live as if you will die tomorrow, but learn as if you will live forever.”

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
-John Dewey

“If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.”
-Zig Ziglar

“The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.”
-B.B. King

“Change is the end result of all true learning.”
-Leo Buscaglia

“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”
-Anthony J. D’Angelo

“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
-Albert Einstein

“Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.”
-Chinese Proverb

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
-Henry Ford

“He who learns but does not think is lost, he who thinks but does not learn is in danger.”
-Confucius

“The first time you say something, it’s heard. The second time, it’s recognized. The third time, it’s learned.”
-William H. Rastetter

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
-Benjamin Franklin

…and remember: The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The great teacher demonstrates…and we are all teachers!
