Advice To Actually Listen To

Advice To Actually Listen To

Sep 13, 2025 | Thoughts & Musings

  1. Your phone is making you miserable.

Yes, it connects you. But it also steals your time, your focus, your peace, and your sense of self. Take the phone less seriously.

  1. Most of your anxiety comes from trying to control things you can’t.

Your peace starts the moment you stop trying to micromanage life and accept that some things are above your pay grade.

  1. Sleep is not optional.

If you’re running on caffeine and vibes, you’re also running from a burnout. Go to bed. Hydrate. Repeat.

  1. Stop waiting to feel “ready.”

Perfectionism is procrastination wearing high heels. Do it scared. Confidence comes after action, not before.

  1. If it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.

If it drains you daily, it’s not worth the badge of being “strong” or “selfless.”

  1. You are not your thoughts.

You don’t have to believe it just because it’s loud. Learn to observe without attaching.

  1. Consistency beats motivation.

Motivation is a flaky friend. Discipline is the one who shows up even when it’s raining. Build routines. Keep promises to yourself. Results will follow.

  1. Most people aren’t thinking about you.

They’re too busy worrying about themselves. So stop living to impress ghosts in the room.

  1. Kindness is never wasted.

You never know who’s hanging on by a thread. Be the soft place to land, even if you’re the only one in the room offering it.

10.   You’re allowed to reinvent yourself.

You are not locked into any version of you that someone else expects. Grow. Change. Surprise yourself.

…and then some extra advice,

“I think it’s very important to have a feedback loop, where you’re constantly thinking about what you’ve done and how you could be doing it better. I think that’s the single best piece of advice: constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself.”
-Elon Musk

“Your life does not get better by chance; it gets better by change.”
-Jim Rohn

“The only way to do great work is to love what you are doing.”
-Steve Jobs
